How to print India Post shipping labels in bulk

Label printing is where a dispatch workflow either flows or stalls. The difference is usually stock choice, margins and whether the batch prints as one document.
Thermal or A4?
| Thermal 4x6 | A4 sheets | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | 20+ parcels a day | Occasional dispatch |
| Running cost | Roll only, no ink | Paper, ink and tape |
| Setup | One-time printer configuration | None |
| Durability | Good, but keep away from heat | Depends on tape coverage |
What belongs on the label
- Recipient name, full address and six-digit PIN code in a readable size
- Contact number for failed-attempt follow-up
- Barcode with a human-readable reference underneath
- Service indicator and, for COD, the collectable amount clearly displayed
- Sender block with return address
- Your own order reference for packing-table matching
Printing a batch
- 1Select the shipments in the queue and choose Generate labels.
- 2Review the preview count — it should match your selection exactly.
- 3Print the merged PDF at 100% scale with no 'fit to page' scaling.
- 4Scan one label to confirm the barcode reads before committing the full roll.
Scaling is the most common cause of unreadable barcodes. Always print at actual size.
Reprints and voids
A smudged label should be reprinted with the same reference. A reference printed for a cancelled order should be voided, not reused. Both actions belong on the shipment timeline so the reference history stays complete.
